As the capital and largest city in Ireland, Dublin has a rich history, natural beauty, and an extensive collection of dining and cultural opportunities. Located just outside the city center and close to Dublin Bay, University College Dublin hosts a spacious campus with lakes, woodland walks, and wildlife. In addition, all students studying abroad in Dublin have access to the University College Dublin's training facility for all their training needs. With two summer sessions per year, Dublin is an ideal destination for students looking for both natural beauty and a bustling English-speaking city to immerse themselves athletically, academically, and culturally.

PROGRAM

Students visiting Dublin, Ireland take two courses over a three-week span. The classes are taught in person at University College Dublin's campus. Upon completion of the program, students are awarded six transferable college credits from our accrediting partner, Hellenic American University. In addition, students in Dublin have access to University College Dublin's training facility for athletic training purposes.

ACTIVITIES

In addition to traditional Irish sites, all students have the chance to visit local sports organizations and mental health and wellness experts. Activities will include a visit to the Cliffs of Moher, musical shows, a tour of Croke Park, and a Gaelic Games experience.

SHI 100 - Introduction to Student-Athlete Development 

SHI 103 - Entrepreneurship in Sports

Summer Session 2 2024:

SHI 101 - Introduction to Mental Health in College Athletics

SHI 104 - Sports Management

ACCOMMODATION

Visiting students reside in on-campus apartments close to the host institution and the training facilities. Apartments have individual rooms and shared common spaces. All apartments have a full kitchen, wifi, and bed linens. There is also an onsite laundry facility and multiple lounges. 

LOGISTICS

SHI provides suggestions for students needing medical, accident, or travel insurance while abroad. It is the student's responsibility to be insured before departure. In addition, students have access to on-site student support services (academic advising, career guidance, and counseling). All students must complete a pre-departure orientation and on-site orientation. Airport transportation is provided upon arrival and departure. Lastly, students who complete the coursework receive an official Hellenic American University transcript.
